Service Area Statements of Purpose PDF Print E-mail
The Service Area Statements of Purpose affirm the Conservancy's core activities. The statements represent each Service Area's fundamental responsibilities, and taken as a whole, demonstrate their interconnectedness and the opportunity for mutual support. By introducing the Service Area Statements of Purpose, the Conservancy provides detail and insight into its five functional areas and the comprehensive services we provide.

Advancement and Communications
The Advancement and Communications Service Area develops sources of support and partners organizationally to identify needs and create fundable opportunities for grantors and donors. Advancement and Communications also partners organizationally to tell the Heritage Conservancy story through volunteers and the media, as well as to facilitate positive and enriching mission-related experiences for people.

Finance and Administration Service
The Finance and Administration Service Area provides financial, human resource and technology services for internal and external clients which can further their efficiency. These services include: program, project and grant accounting, budget and financial reporting; external audit assistance; network administration and technological foresight; human resource assistance; office administration; and, additional administrative duties to support all service areas.

Planning and Implementation
Heritage Conservancy's Planning and Implementation Service Area provides assistance to municipalities, nonprofit, and private entities and individuals. The Planning and Implementation service area helps develop smart growth strategies, enhances regional, municipal, and watershed planning, and other green-related opportunities to enrich and sustain communities and natural resources. The work is achieved through a variety of strategies, including the education of key decision makers, effective land use planning and design, and the assemblage of meaningful public/private partnerships.

Property and Easement Stewardship
The Property and Easement Stewardship Service Area manages the land, structures, and conservation easements of the Conservancy. In addition, the Property and Easement Stewardship service area works with communities to inventory their natural resources and to manage their easements. Assistance is also provided to landowners in stewarding their properties. Property and Easement Stewardship teams with other service areas to raise funds, to facilitate the protection of land, and to educate communities about their natural heritage.

Resource Protection
The Resource and Protection Service Area implements Heritage Conservancy's mission of historic preservation and land conservation through the direct acquisition of land, easements, and properties and through providing technical assistance to communities and property owners.
