Kevin A. Kester, Business Committee Chairman
'As a Landscape Architect and Conservationist, I am a tree-hugger from way back.  My father bought a 40-acre farm just when I began attending high school.  I spent hours running through the fields flying kites, catching crawfish in the creeks and hunting salamanders under rocks.  In tenth grade,  I decided I wanted to be a Landscape Architect so I could combine my artistic nature with my love for the great outdoors.  Volunteering for Heritage Conservancy helps me to give back to the community (and back to nature) by allowing me to give time and money to an organization whose platform is based on land and agricultural preservation and on saving the environment "one acre at a time."  The commitment and the warmth of the staff encourages me to strive to do even more."

Kim Arnold
' I have always been passionate about the environment.  My fondest childhood memories are of exploring the woods behind my home and of visiting my grandmother’s home in the mountains.  We were taught to have a deep respect for nature and to appreciate its beauty and importance to our quality of life.  Volunteering at Heritage Conservancy gives me an opportunity to support those values in land preservation and help build community awareness of the importance of sustaining our natural resources.  The knowledge and commitment of the staff has made my volunteer experience even more rewarding.'

Rebecca DeHaven

'As a child growing up near the Pocono Mountains, spending time outdoors was a part of my family’s daily routine. Some of my fondest childhood memories include picnics by the lake, Sunday afternoon hikes in the woods or weekly trips to a local farm to purchase the freshest products.  It was during these moments that I grew to appreciate the beauty of the world around me.  I felt like I had all of life’s simple pleasures right at my fingertips.  Today, as I raise three daughters of my own, I have those same feelings.  Bucks County is an extraordinarily beautiful area that is rich in history and bountiful farmlands.  I strive each day to teach my daughters to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of the area in which we live.  Therefore, assisting an organization with a mission that reflects my beliefs and values is important to me.  Heritage Conservancy protects and preserves the areas that my children will enjoy today and in the future.'
