Tinicum Township, Bucks County

Delaware Canal Aqueduct
In Bucks County the Delaware Canal started construction in 1827. The Canal was opened for business in 1831-33 and linked to the Lehigh Canal in Easton.

Erwinna Historic District
Erwinna stands on a tract of 528 acres purchased by Colonel Arthur Erwin in 1769 from the London Company.

Stover Mill
The Stover Mill c. 1832 was constructed of Pennsylvania fieldstone by Henry Stover. An unusual mill in that it was powered directly from the Delaware River.

Frankenfield Bridge
Reputed to be the longest covered bridge in Bucks County, the Frankenfield Bridge was built in 1872. Of the 26 covered bridges built in Bucks County, it is one of only eleven remaining.

Ottsville Historic District
The name Ottsville c.1825 was named after the Ott family at that time, numerous and influential. The old hotel on the hill had many landlords and was a stopping place for stagecoaches and other early traffic on Durham Road.

Red Hill Church and School
The church c 1769 is in the Georgian style and the school dates from 1843.

Ridge Valley Rural Historic District
Located at the intersections of Headquarters, Red Hill Road, Sheep Hole Road and Bunker Hill Road, Ridge Valley Rural Historic District c 1790 intersects at the Tinicum Creek.

Van Sant Airport
Get a bird's eye view of lovely Tinicum Township from historic Van Sant Airport. Located on 198.5 acres, this County-owned facility showcases one of Bucks County's most natural and bucolic landscapes.

Sundale Historic District
Sundale c1800 is on Headquarters Road near the intersection with Cafferty road. The village is comprised of Federal, Georgian and Gothic Revival architecture.

Rock Ridge Chapel
Rock Ridge Chapel c 1847 is of the Federal Style. The property includes a cemetery.

Uhlerstown Historic District
Michael Uhler for whom the village is named was the owner of a canal boat building yard, limekilns, and the country store and coal yards.

Upper Tinicum Evangelical Lutheran
The congregation of the Upper Tinicum Evangelical Lutheran Church began in 1851 under the direction of the Reverend John R. Wilcox.

Point Pleasant Historic District
The Point Pleasant Historic District c 1785 is at the intersection of River, Cafferty and Point Pleasant Pike.

Wormansville Historic District
Wormansville c 1800 is located at the intersection of Dark Hollow and Wormansville Road and was named after the Worman family.

Stover Park Bridge
The bridge across Tohickon Creek, connecting the two sections of the Ralph Stover Park is not a covered bridge but open on the top and is now used for foot traffic only.
